In an exclusive chat, ABHIMANYU DASSANI talks to Manpreet Kaur Hora about his debut film Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, his stint at the award’s shows and being the son of actress Bhagyashree.

How did you bag Mard Ko Dard Nai Hota?

I went for a round of auditions and got a casting call saying that they needed a boy of eighteen to twenty three who knows martial arts for a film. So that’s how I landed up for the audition. First day, I went for the audition at 9 a.m., I waited there till 6 p.m. and I didn’t get an audition, and then the second day again, I waited outside the casting office and didn’t get a chance. On the third day, I got a chance to audition and I got shortlisted after five weeks of auditions. Every day from nine to six, I came back and spent a lot of time with Vasan Bala sir. We created a friendship-like bond and I just knew I wanted to work with him. He believed in me which gave me the power to believe in myself.
