When a recent link-up with Spanish footballer Hector Bellerin made news, it was hard to believe that this gal - who has such a massive fan following is also a fanatic fangirl. Apart from her acting prowess, she is also praised for the sizzling fashionista that she is. But despite several noteworthy performances, why hasn’t this damsel made an impact yet? Read on as ESHA GUPTA opens up to Rinaldo D’souza about Bollywood and her upcoming releases.

Were you approached for Badshaho? How did the film come to you?

Milan (Luthria) sir wanted to meet me because my team had pitched me to him. He is one of the most respected directors in our industry and is known for creating cinema with good content. It was a Sunday, my team and I were at his house and I was so, so hungry. While I was eating, he came and told me the moment he saw me, he knew I was going to be Sanjana in the film. To hear something like this from him was a big thing and I couldn’t stop smiling. I have played Sanjana before in Raaz and I think the name is lucky. I just hope it gets better.

What was it like working with Emraan Hashmi and Ileana D’cruz?

Honestly, for a newcomer, I think Emraan is the best actor to work with. He is very patient and gives a lot to the actor to work with, both on and off camera. Ileana, I just shot with and we had so much fun! We don’t have a lot of scenes together so far, but I hope we do because there is a lot more to do in the film.

What role do you play in the film and how crucial is it?
