Most B-town weddings that happened this year came as a surprise. There were no prior announcements or conjectures about these matrimonies. In fact, they weren’t anything like the conventional, big fat, filmy foofaraws. Nonetheless, they made news for their own special reasons. Bipasha Basu & Karan Singh Grover

Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover met, got close and fell in love on the sets of Alone. The two dated for a while and reportedly they were also in a live-in relationship. There were constant stories about the two getting hitched, but apparently, there were differences and reluctance from their parents. Contrary to sceptics’ expectations, the volatile two married each other in a private ceremony. It was a Bengali wedding attended by family and close friends. And there was a star-studded reception in Mumbai, attended by Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Ritiesh Deshmukh with wife Genelia, Preity Zinta, and Bipasha’s ex-boyfriend Dino Morea, to name a few. The couple even shared pictures of their wedding ceremonies on social networking sites. Post the reception, the two took off to Maldives for their honeymoon. On the work front, the newlyweds haven’t announced their next career moves, but are busy exploring conjugal bliss. Bipasha seems to have finally met her soulmate in the now thrice-married Karan, who fondly calls her monkey, and recognises her inner ‘small child trapped in a hot body,’ to quote him.
