But who would’ve thought that a girl who barely spoke the universal communicator – English, would win the hearts of millions post her entry in tinsel town and her appearance on screen. Yes, Kangana Ranaut stepped into the industry in 2006, barely 17 years old, when she was spotted by Anurag Basu sipping coffee. Weird, but this is the truth. She got to play the lead in Anurag Basu’s Gangster in 2006. For someone not yet out of her teens, her portrayal as the maudlin, melancholic moll trapped in love, took our breath away with its sheer soulfulness and depth. Ever since, she has only been on an upper. Climbing as high as she can. Most of her films have been critically acclaimed. Her performances in Tanu Weds Manu, and Queen have not only stood out but also got her the title “Queen of Bollywood”, and won her a National Award as well. As she slowly got involved in the business of tinsel town, we saw how Kangana handled situations with the press and other celebrities. Kangana earned the reputation of being absolutely straightforward with the media. Whether it was controversial or just another day in her life, Kangana always surprised the media with her words and bold statements.
