As RAW as it gets. Manpreet Kaur Hora in conversation with costume designer AMEIRA PUNVANI on how it was to work with John Abraham, Akshay Kumar and other B-Town superstars.

RAW is a film set in 1971. How did you bag this film and can you share any anecdotes or your experience while working for this film?
I did a film called Rustom which was a period film and my work was appreciated for that film. So then I was approached by the producer of RAW for this film. However the director Robby Grewal, he was a little bit skeptical about working with someone who he hasn’t worked with, though I had worked with him before on small projects but not particularly a film. I told him to give me a brief, I also said, “You don’t have to go by my previous work and my last project, I’ll make a presentation and on the basis of that take me.” This was something very dear to Robby and it was his dream project, so he wanted to be sure that whoever he worked with should be worth it. I made a presentation and he was very happy and eventually I was signed for this job and that’s how I bagged the film, purely on the basis of my presentation and talent.
What was the prep that went into the costumes of RAW?
Robby Grewal was very clear from the beginning that he didn’t want anything to look like a costume. He didn’t want any
