SURVEEN CHAWLA, is an artist who can add multiple colors to her personality in every genre that she plays. In a candid conversation she spills the beans to Nazifa Charania about her exciting yet not so rosy journey in the industry and about how she believes in not just being an adornment in the frame.

How was your journey from Television to Bollywood?

The journey was a long one. No journey is easy or rosy. What people see at the end of the day is where you are today. What they don’t realise is what you have been through having no God father to back you up. As an outsider you always have to deal with a lot of shit. There is a sense of achievement at every milestone you reach and every stereotype you are able to break. It has been a journey full of that. Right now, it’s a lovely time because people are not really bothered about your background but when I started pursuing my goal of films, it wasn’t so easy. I had to take a whole turn from going down South, then moving to Punjab, and then coming to Bollywood. But it has been amazing and evolutionary for me personally and professionally because I have not had any training in acting, nor do I come from an acting background. Everything that I have learnt is obviously from my own experience. So, yes I am very happy and proud of where I am today.

Recently you stated that you cannot keep your personal and professional growth detached? Why is it so?
