Having worked with brilliant actors in her as yet short career, she is all set to do Haseena, a woman-centric film, playing an alpha female. Rinaldo D’souza sits across her and watches her get as candid as one can. What were your expectations from OK Jaanu?

Closer to the release, I had mixed feelings. I was both, confident, and nervous. But then it is not just for OK Jaanu. I am nervous and excited before every film, so no, it is not because of that.

Both, Aditya Roy Kapur and you, have not worked together since Aashiqui 2?

You know, I just realised that before Aashiqui 2, both of our last releases had not done well. And now again, we have a second release before which both our films have not done well. What I mean is, in both cases, both of our last releases have not done well, and this is exactly what happened before Aashiqui 2.

What goes on in your mind when a film tanks at the Box Office? How do you handle it all emotionally?

When your film doesn’t do well, you go into the spiral of thoughts where you wonder if you’re making the right choices, or if you’re doing the right things. You tend to ask yourself many questions. But then there is a part of you that tells you that it’s okay, and don’t give up hope and don’t stop trying. In my case, two of my first films didn’t do well. Those films not doing well, I didn’t take it that well at all, at first. But now, I think I’ve learnt something from there and I think I am a little stronger now.
