Since the moment they got married, rumors have swirled about Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry’s life inside the palace. “The constant gossip and scrutiny has been tough,” says a friend, referring to reports that the mom-to-be’s “difficult” behavior has caused problems with royal staffers — as well as her sister-in-law, Duchess Kate. “Meghan’s tried to play it off like she isn’t fazed by the chatter. But deep down, it’s taken a toll and caused a lot of stress.”

Now Meghan is finally ready to set the record straight. For the first time, OK! can share what’s really happening behind Kensington Palace’s iron gates as Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, open up to those who know them best. “Meghan doesn’t want to address the rumors in public but feels it’s very important that people know the real story,” an insider close to the royal couple tells OK!, noting that the truth is “nothing” like what’s been reported over the last several months. “Yes, Meghan hit some bumps as she transitioned into her new role, but things are far more pleasant than most know — especially with Kate.” And with her April due date quickly approaching, adds the insider, “Meghan feels it’s time to get her side of the story out there.”
