After an explosive showdown in a New York federal court, Judge Alison Nathan rejected the disgraced British socialite’s plea to be freed on $5 million bail, ruling convicted pervert Jeffrey Epstein’s 58-year-old former girlfriend was “a substantial risk of flight” and faced “serious” charges, which could put her in prison for 35 years.

For now, Ghislaine, the high-living daughter of the late scandalous media baron Robert Maxwell, will be confined under heavy guard for at least a year while awaiting trial on charges that include enticing underage girls to travel with the billionaire pedophile and feed his twisted passions.

Secretive and tight-lipped, Ghislaine disappeared for nearly a year after Epstein’s suspicious death in another New York federal prison. Epstein was also denied bail — despite offering to put up a $100 million bond to live a free man while waiting trial for new sex crimes. His death was officially ruled a suicide, but investigators claim there is evidence pointing to murder — because he knew too much about the antics of the rich, famous and powerful who played at his private sex dens.

Sources told The National ENQUIRER Ghislaine ran for cover when the scandal broke last August. But federal agents finally swooped in on her at a luxury hideout, named Tucked away, in New Hampshire on July 2.
