Motherhood becomes JOANNE PEH, who now radiates a relaxed confidence. We chat with the soon-to-be mum-of-two about baby-making and meditation, and ask her to show us a picture of the mysterious Baby Qi.
We’ve just spent two minutes gushing over a video of Baby Qi. Yes, Baby Qi, aka the baby who shall not be seen. Well, we’ve seen her, and not just the top of her head or her feet, but, like all of her. Including her face, which has so far eluded the followers of @joannepeh on Instagram.We’re having lunch with Mrs Qi Yuwu at The Disgruntled Brasserie at The Club, where we’ve just finished shooting her first cover with 8 DAYS since 2014. We’re having miso cod; she’s picking at a mac and cheese. Despite being three-and-a-half months pregnant, Joanne isn’t eating for two. She doesn’t even look like she’s been eating for one — her shoulders are thin and her face betrays no signs of pregnancy puff. The only telltale signs? That preggers glow and the tiniest hint of a belly that’s still smaller than our post-miso cod food baby. Those are some superior genes, which she’s passed on to her first mini-me, by the looks of it. But you’d have to take our word for it, since you won’t be seeing Baby Qi’s face anytime soon.
