Lessons that Cirque du Soleil acrobat LAURA KMETKO learned from travelling around the world and performing 1,100 shows. But don’t think even for a minute think that she’s on permanent vacay.
WHO IS SHE? Laura Kmetko, 33. The Aussie acrobat joined Cirque du Soleil’s Kooza in Paris in 2013 as a teeterboard flyer (where acrobatics are performed on a plank resembling a seesaw), after graduating with a full-time circus degree from the National Institute of Circus Arts in Melbourne. Having toured with Kooza through Europe, America and Canada, she recently played her 1,100th show. The circus is now in town at Bayfront Avenue. Expect lots of death-defying acrobatics and clowning around from a cast of 50 acrobats, musicians and actors.
