1 The gory scenes were easy to shoot.

In Raw, Marillier, 19, plays Justine, a vegetarian veterinary student who develops an insatiable hunger for human flesh following a hazing ritual. The movie gained notoriety last year when its gruesome sequences caused many viewers to pass out at its Toronto International Film Festival screening. For Marillier, the gory parts — including one that gives the phrase “finger licking good” a whole new meaning — were a cinch to do. As was the icky disastrous bikini-waxing scene. “I had a body double for the close-ups,” the actress tells us over the phone through an interpreter. “Not because I was afraid, but because I wasn’t hairy enough to do it for real.” Ironically, the worst scene to do was a light moment where Justine and her sister (Ella Rumpf) are drunk and peeing on a rooftop…
