Is it possible to lose belly fat? The short answer is, Yes! It is possible to do that. Now, is it possible to lose just belly fat alone? No, that is not possible!
All of us want to lose belly fat! And some of us want to lose only belly fat and from nowhere else! Reducing fat from one targeted spot is called 'spot reduction' and it is not possible to target and spotreduce fat from the body unless it is through surgical removal of fat tissues. In fact, you lose body fat only in a calorie-deficit diet; and fat from the belly is the last one to go away! Belly fat is also known as 'stubborn fat' for a reason! Fat is stored in the fat cell (adipocytes) as triglycerides. These triglycerides are released from the fat cells when there is a calorie deficit in our bodies, i.e., when our calorie intake is lesser than the calorie expenditure. This process, also known as Lipolysis, is done with the help of a certain hormone called Catecholamine. Think of it this way - catecholamine is the key that opens the door lock of the fat cells, to take triglycerides out of it. Or in other words, catecholamine (the key) binds with the receptors (door lock) in the fat cells to open them and release fatty acids so that they can be used for energy
