A RELOOK AT PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

The nature of change and flux is also that, just when we figure something and think that we have understood, things change. Science or art in its entirety lacks a definition and much of it is contextual. While science at least has the solid foundation for us to build on and understand new principles, art is often a matter of context and the nature of times. We have seen art – style and fashion, even follow a cyclical pattern, where the same hues of the past become avant-garde.

In most cases, after the primary phase of education, be it the professional degrees or the more general qualifications, we tend to rely on our observational skills and the day-to-day interactions we have in our working environments to teach us further. What we pick up during this phase is the processes and the work scenarios from the quotidian tasks of work and perhaps display elements of discipline, culture and follow the way ‘things are done in your respective workspace. For the professional courses, there is a little more application of what was taught in college and some of the fundamental principles we picked up in college is polished further. In most cases, we also trudge the fine line between monotony and thinking.
