When people think of information technology infrastructure, they often imagine racks of hardware locked away in data centres and basements. In reality, it is actually a focal point of disruption and innovation in every area; from servers and storage, to the main groundwork that is at play.
The infrastructure sector is a key driver for the Indian economy. It is responsible for propelling India’s overall development and enjoys intense focus from the government, in regards to initializing policies that would ensure the time-bound creation of world-class infrastructure in the country.
As India is progressing exponentially in terms of building smart cities, extensive transformation is visible across the map in terms of technological advancements and infrastructure development. According to the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) received by the infrastructure development sector, (townships, housing, built-up infrastructure, and development projects) from April 2000 to March 2019 stood at US$ 25.05 billion, which further implies the immense growth of the segment.
