DELIVERING A DIFFERENCE

India has always been a tough country for logistics operations, owing to its diverse geographical features and suffocating population density. Providing consistent last mile connectivity under these circumstances has remained a challenge for operators who often have to incur unnecessary losses due to easily avoidable delays and unreliable communication practices. This further translates to losses in both money and time for the thousands of businesses that rely on these logistics providers to connect them with customers. Thankfully, in recent years, SaaS services like ClickPost have popped up to answer this very problem with their own unique approach; the use of machine learning and data-driven decision making to help predict such delays and make up for them.

We had a talk with the Co-Founder and CEO of the company, Naman Vijay, to find out exactly what it takes to make this happen. Edited extracts...

Shipment tracking has always been one of the main tasks related to the logistics industry. How did you get involved in this profession, and how has the industry changed since then?

We started as a logistics aggregator, where we were acting as a logistics partner to our clients and were, in turn, leveraging other logistics providers to get the deliveries done. At that time, we were using the latest logistics integration solutions internally; to help our delivery partners get efficient results.
