Automation ensures better productivity and efficiency

The knitting sector occupies an important position in the Indian textile industry. And knitting technology over the years has seen several technological advancements which have provided advantages of better productivity and energy utilisation. OEMs who build weaving and knitting machines have been leading the way in utilising advanced automation technologies in textile manufacturing to ensure safe and continuous working. As this industry needs to operate round-the-clock, machine downtime can lead to huge losses in terms of material and money. In addition, the biggest challenge is to bring production back to normal in the shortest time possible.

Owing to many such factors, automation has become an indispensable part of this industry. Machines built with powerful controllers, high-speed motion components and interactive HMI focus towards improving operational efficiency, reduce machine stoppages and increase availability of machines and lines. Use of automation in the textile sector has resulted in precise control of machines from userfriendly interfaces, thereby helping maintain speed of fabric production even if it is jacquard fabrics along with inspection of fabrics on loom, reduction of downtime with efficient use of raw material, minimisation of waste and energy consumption and using machine space optimally.
