An easy way to identifying the best fund to meet your financial objectives, achieving them and building wealth.

A Fund for Every Investor

The genesis of this study was a conversation between Outlook Money, an investor-centric magazine and ‘Value Research’, one of the oldest and best mutual fund tracking company in the country. The need of the hour for every investor or potential investor is to know which financial instrument to put their money into to achieve their financial goal. So, when we set out, we identified three broad investor needs—stable returns, growth and income. The next step was to look for funds that have been in existence for a long period of time and have proven themselves time and again.

With basic objective in place, we did what we are best at—cut the noise. So, out went fund classification as defined by the mutual fund industry: large-cap, multi-cap, small-cap and so on. We also looked for funds as regular SIP investment vehicle, with a 5-year investment timeframe and identified regular plans, so over time, evolved investors could invest through the direct mode and earn a higher return purely because of low expense ratio in case of direct plans. The final selection is a set of 22 schemes which should address the needs of every investor type at any given point.
