Bschools need to leverage the power of AI and remodel their pedagogical approach suitably.

Towards Intelligent Learning

Organisations, leaders, and employees must be prepared to face the ‘unknown unknowns’. In this context, the role of technology in management should be examined. Our education system, especially business schools, should equip graduates with the technology needed to survive and grow. So, it is imperative to understand if our educational institutions are prepared on the VUCA front? Are they buffered, hedged? These are some of the questions that need to be answered.

Technology and management education

Rapid advancements in technology, continuously changing needs/expectations of students and industry, and increasing global competition have led to a whole lot of new challenges and opportunities for bschools—vis-a-vis the way they teach, operate, and promote themselves. Some embrace technology while some others prefer to follow more traditional and tested approaches. It is no longer enough if institutions pay mere lip service to technology adoption— they need to move ahead and explore tools such as AI to modernise education.

Dr John Sullivan has extensively spoken about continuous obsolescence even with regard to competencies. Tactics that were once an easy solution for productivity will not work any longer. Organisations of the future shall need medium-term access to skilful talent and short-term access to dedicated talent. Technology can emerge as an enabler to respond to this challenge.
