Road paving and compacting equipment is seeing much demand
At a time when the world has been brought low due to the pandemic, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has thought it the right time to march ahead with infrastructure projects. Roads and highways are being constructed as never before.
In such a scenario, equipment makers are giving a facelift to machines as they would be used rigorously across states.
Ramesh Palagiri, MD & CEO, Wirtgen India, says, “HAMM, the German manufacturer in compaction technology, is a member of the internationally successful Wirtgen Group. In India we offer the Hamm 311 soil compactor, HD 99 Asphalt compactor, GRW 15 rubber-wheeled roller ,3520 pad foot compactor and also the mini tandem roller HD 12VV. The right machine for every paving application, VÖGELE Asphalt pavers are offered from the range of 0.5 mtr upto 16 mtrs. Mini class, compact class, universal class, highway class and special class - the names of the pavers says it all.“
Some companies prefer to tie up and sell their products in India. For instance , Schwing Stetter has a tie up with Gomaco and XCMG. VG Sakthikumar, MD, Schwing Stetter India, says, “The concrete paver is a micro-market for us. We have not yet decided to enter the space of asphalt pavers and compaction machines. However, we have recently expanded our facility to accommodate the increase in demand based on these infrastructure projects.”
