Rakesh Lakra, Regional VP, Shaw Contract, shares how the brand is catering to the evolving needs of the industry and latest trends and development in its portfolio
What are the prominent trends in flooring design for 2022?
One of the most interesting trends that were noticed during 2021 was the impact of flooring design on health. The focus will be on products and brands that practice sustainability in word and deed. The COVID crisis has brought on a renewed emphasis on enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of workspaces. Our understanding of flooring design in 2022 is that health and safety aspects, apart from visual aesthetics, will continue to be a deciding factor.
At Shaw Contract, we trust not only the environmental health of our products and our operations but also how our products impact human experiences. Our products undergo rigorous third-party testing for human and environmental impacts through the Cradle-to-Cradle Certified™ Products Program, which we have participated in, for over 20 years.

Given that the needs and requirements for flooring are constantly changing, what are the few key considerations for flooring products in various industry sectors, like commercial space, hospitality, and other sectors?
