BANKING FINANCE
|July 2019

-
The change has happened basically at two fronts,
1. Changes at macro level viz technology, competition, compliance, risk level, regulation etc.
2. Changes at micro level viz operational procedures, basic amenities, ambience and infrastructure of the branch.
Progress made at micro level viz smooth operational procedures, basic amenities, ambience and infrastructure of the branch has addressed the issue of physical stress and reduced it to bare minimum level. Changes occurring at macro level viz technology, competition, compliance, risk level, regulation etc. is perhaps contributing to this shift of physical stress to mental stress. Now faced with the challenges of ever increasing mental stress which is seemingly unbearable for some of our banker colleagues and it has resulted into some unfortunate incidents in recent past.
The job stress is an increasing problem in present day organizations; and banking sector is no exception to it. This mental stress is not only effecting the employees work life, but has far reaching impact on employees family life as well. Individual who experience peace in job can meet job demands effectively and this helps them to increase job satisfaction. In later part of this article we will be discussing the ways and means to overcome the stress factor and use of some effective tools in this regard.
Let us discuss some broad changes taken place at above mentioned two points.
