Esposa has long been a top runner in the bridal industry, and now with EsposaCouture, designer Kristie Romanos is continuing to push romance just that little bit further. With whimsical designs and luxurious fabrics, the EsposaCouture artisans always have one goal in mind; designing love stories for the versatile bride.

Here Kristie tells us more about the EsposaCouture bride and her desire to design every woman’s look of love.

Where did the passion to found EsposaCouture come from?

When I joined the family business after studying and working abroad, I really felt like I needed to bring my own input into it, to make a difference somewhere and somehow. This is when I started twisting or designing dresses based on my clients’ demands, adding that little something extra that they were desperately looking for. This is what gradually led to the birth and expansion of EsposaCouture, and today it’s a full line which is being distributed worldwide. I still have that same desire now that I always had, to cater better for the clientele I’m assisting.

Where do you get the inspiration for your collections?

I don’t think of only designing dresses, I think of designing love stories. The inspiration then comes with the creation process, which starts naturally with brainstorming and then lasts for weeks inside our atelier. During this phase, we elaborate mood boards about the fabrics, the cuts, and the overall feel of the collection. During the second phase, we witness the concretisation of these boards, creating rounds of sketches, from which we keep only our favourites. This is when the execution stage starts in our atelier, bringing exquisite designs into life thanks to the great craftsmanship of our workers.
