With her generous sail area, she’s a lively boat even in the lightest breeze and her rig permits easy handling with a minimum crew, or singlehanded. Recent Glen-L 14 builder Billy Budge of Nova Scotia, Canada comments:
“We had a great summer and the little boat proved to be a great sailor. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well it stood up to a strong breeze while beating to windward.”
The broad beam not only makes the Glen-L 14 safe and stable, but allows plenty of room in the cockpit for the whole family. Coming about is an easy process because the centerboard trunk protrudes only 10" above the cockpit sole.
Although designed as a family-type daysailer, the Glen-L 14 can perform with the best of them.
