Dressing The Bonnet

With the bonnet now fitted to our E-type, we adorn it with lights

WE NOW begin the process of dressing the bonnet and, like most things on this car, there is a degree of upgrade. In today’s modern world, we decided it would be sensible to use the best possible lighting by also using daytime driving lights, as offered by The Better Car Lighting Company, a decision made much easier by there being provision for it in the new H4 headlamp units.

Also, rather than use the standard headlamp bulbs, we’ve opted for Ultra bulbs (blue-coated to give an intense white light for maximum effect) to hopefully force light through the limiting glass headlamp covers. A relay can switch off the daytime running lights once the main lights are activated.
