Exploring CMC Restorations - a proverbial Aladdin’s Cave of HISTORIC AND CLASSIC JAGUARS ALL BEING LOVED BY SKILLED CRAFTSMEN

CMC Lovehouse of Car

HEARD OF CLASSIC MOTOR CARS, OR CMC? THEY ARE A highly regarded professional business in the UK where you can have your much loved car restored, serviced, purchase a sought after model or buy the parts you need to keep your classic on the road. If you aren’t aware of the company, you will certainly know many of the famous cars they have doted on.

How about one of our most mentioned D-Types, the ex-Sydney domiciled OKV 1, or the 1955 Le Mans XK140 FHC, the only such model to have raced in the main event, or the specially customised Mk2 designed by and built for Jaguar’s design head, Ian Callum? Or the first RHD E-Type FHC and the fabled and badly damaged Lindner and Nocker Lightweight E-Type racer? They are all favourites of CMC, and have been returned to their finest condition by the specialist business.

Having heard the stories and observed the cars coming out of their doors, our UK photographer Martin Dunning took a special trip to Bridgnorth in Shropshire , on the border with Wales, to inspect and capture the dozens of Jaguar gems being worked on in CMC’s immaculate 36,000 sq.ft. premises.

With minimal exceptions, every aspect of a car’s restoration, servicing and even bespoke car design is carried out in-house. They also have a whopping 24,000 sq.ft. of specialised storage space for classic and sports cars located right next to their workshops.

CMC teamed up with Total, the global energy company, to provide oil for the century-old engines, and a full mobile welding service to support the veteran cars in their 2016 pilgrimage from London to Brighton.

SERIOUS UP-DATES MAKE IT BETTER - AND IT'S DIESEL F-pace next level

THE F-PACE IS JAGUAR'S BEST SELLING MODEL AND continues to improve in all ways. The 2021 upgrades are sensational to the point where it now feels close to an XJ from the driver or passenger seats. It is that luxurious. It is multi-purpose too, so aside from family duties, it will handle the dirty stuff like a dedicated SUV and, encouragingly, Jaguar really has got its head around what the F-PACE was capable of achieving from its inception.
