New Ford Otosan

Ford is expected to launch a new long-haul truck as part of the Otosan range at the Hannover Commercial Vehicle Show (IAA) in September 2018.

A heavily camouflaged long-haul Ford truck was recently spotted on a Turkish highway in the province of Sakarya, along the Otoyol 4 (O-4), a highway that connects Istanbul to Ankara. Since it was spotted in Turkey, chances are high that the truck is made by the Ford joint venture with the Turkish Group Koc called Ford Otosan. Claimed to be a new truck rather than a facelift given the dimensions of the cab, especially its width and height, visually speaking, the new camouflaged truck spotted is quite likely to be powered by a 420 hp (2642T and 1842T) or 480 HP (1848T) Ford Ecotorq engine with a displacement capacity of 12.7-litres. In the form of a long-haul tractor (prime mover), the truck is certain to be Euro6 compliant given its European credentials. With the prime movers sold directly by Ford in Argentina and South America, and by Ford Trucks in Turkey, Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa, Turkic Republics, Russian Federation. Central and European countries including Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Croatia and Ukraine, the new camouflaged truck is certain to have been designed and built in Turkey with the technical support of Ford.
