Flavours of Lucknow FOOD TRAILS
Auto Today
|April 2022
We combine our love for road trips and food in the Food Trails series as Dhruv Saxena sets out to explore India’s culinary diversity. First stop – Lucknow with the Hyundai Alcazar
India is as diverse as it gets. Culture, languages, people, landscapes, the country’s diversity is endless and this is reflected in our food as well. Every region has its own style, its own flavour integral to its identity. We love food and we love road trips and for our latest travel series, we figured we’ll combine our love for both and travel for food. For the first installment of the Food Trails series, we travel to the land of Nawabs with the Hyundai Alcazar to try out some of the city’s most popular and most famous food joints.

Lucknow is connected to Delhi via the Delhi-Agra and Agra-Lucknow expressways which ensure a smooth and hassle-free drive. The 500 odd kilometre journey takes just six to seven hours, which is considerably shorter than it would take to cover the same amount of distance via an average Indian highway, although these arrow straight expressways can get a bit dreary. The Alcazar diesel with its automatic transmission munched miles with consummate ease and despite the harsh summer sun beating down us, kept us cool with its impressive climate control system and ventilated seats as we immersed our selves in the fantastic aural experience delivered by the Bose sound setup.
