BMW 3-Series Brings In More Fun, Luxury And Space

It has been around for 40 years now having sold around 15 million units globally and has long been the mainstay of the company’s lineup across markets. Needless to say, then, the 3-Series’ popularity puts pressure on BMW to get it right to a T. First impressions are very promising indeed. The seventh-generation 3-Series is bigger, has more space, is more luxurious than before, comes with more tech and BMW has worked hard to enhance the driving experience, an area that has long been the defining characteristic of the 3-Series.

The 3-Series has grown in size and measures 76mm longer, 16mm wider and a millimeter taller than its predecessor. The wheelbase has gone up by 41mm while the front and rear track have increased by 43mm and 21mm respectively. The low slung nose features a wider kidney grille flanked by full-LED headlamps featuring U-shape LED daytime running lights. Towards the rear, the 3-Series gets slim tail lamps with chunky L-shape motifs with darkened elements giving it a very sporty look which is further enhanced by the twin tailpipes. Both the front and rear bumpers get identical T-shape elements. Our test car, the 320d in Luxury Line trim was equipped with 17-inch alloys which we feel look a bit too plain. The 330i M Sport does a better job of portraying the sports sedan look, to be honest.
