VOLKSWAGEN has potentially given us our first glimpse of the next Golf at its Future Mobility Days event in Germany, with a new car dubbed the Gen.E.

The mysterious model has been shown in a pair of official photographs, but VW is hesitant to call it a new concept. Instead, the car is described as a ‘research vehicle’.

According to a VW spokesperson, the Gen.E is “being used purely to inform engineering developments”, but Auto Express understands that it could point to the look of the next-generation Golf.
