IT’S not unusual for garages to take their time with repairs, but one owner ran out of patience when his car still wasn’t fixed after six months.

Martin Chalker from Keston, Kent, told us the problems began with his 2015 Mercedes E-Class Cabriolet last year. “I was cleaning the car and thought there were spots of tree sap on it,” he said.

But the spots weren’t sap, and they started to spread across the car. Martin even discovered “a section of lacquer, the size of a 10-pence piece, had come away near the back window”.
