EVERY YEAR WE GO TO THE SPECIALTY EQUIPMENT MARKET Association (SEMA) Show and wade through chromed-out show trucks and over-the-top 4x4s to find the products that will actually make your off-road vehicle more capable on the trail. As it was last year, the Jeep Wrangler JL was a popular platform, but this year the Jeep Gladiator JT was definitely the darling of the show. We skipped the halo headlights and 26-inch wheels in favor of things like suspension components that increase articulation and tires that will allow you to claw your way up the gnarliest of obstacles.

1 MICKEY THOMPSON BAJA PRO XS

We thought Mickey Thompson was nuts last year when the tire maker released the 43-inch Baja Pro X. Well, now we have the Baja Pro XS, the world’s tallest DOTapproved light truck tire. Designed after the extreme Baja Pro X, the Baja Pro XS is street legal with a tough four-ply bias construction. They will be available in 10 sizes, ranging from 35 inches tall all the way up to a ridiculous 58. Mickey Thompson also introduced the Baja Boss tire in a sticky compound for dedicated rock crawlers.
