American architect Peter Marino draws inspiration from Picasso for New York’s The Lobster Club
The now-defunct Brasserie, a popular restaurant in Mies van der Rohe’s Seagram Building, New York, famously hung Picasso ceramics and plates from its walls. Brasserie closed some two years ago and was sorely missed, but it has now been replaced by The Lobster Club, a Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant that eschews the typical woody, earthy sushi counters and screens, surprising guests with bright colours that are a nod to the bistro that previously occupied the space.
