|Haworth 70 years/Metropolis Supplement
With a history of serving leading health-care providers around the world, Haworth continuously draws on its extensive research and integrated technology channels to reimagine how wellness spaces can look and function.

As health-care costs continue to rise, consumers and providers have responded by taking a proactive approach to wellness that requires new ways of thinking about space. “There’s a lot of crossover today,” says Kurt Vander Schuur, global brand director of Haworth. “The focus is on creating interiors for well-being.”
To this end, the company has partnered with Spectrum Health, a nonprofit based in West Michigan, on several cutting-edge facilities, including Strive and the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. Strive, which opened last July, is a membership-based primary care practice in Grand Rapids with a focus on personalized care and concierge medicine. Its clinicians take a preventive approach that emphasizes nutrition and lifestyle. Members also have access to local organizations dedicated to their health and well-being.
