THE THINK TURF SERIES' KOCHI EPISODE SAW SERIOUS DISCUSSIONS AROUND ECO-CONSCIOUS DESIGN
-
The 'Think Turf' Smart Living Forum co-created by ITP’s Architect & Interiors India magazine and Voltas India, is a knowledge-sharing platform that brings together the region’s most celebrated architects and designers to deliberate about the key challenges and opportunities faced within the architecture and design fraternity. Within the forum, they share their insights and experiences regarding the dynamic trends and innovations on designing and building sustainable and efficient spaces. After having successfully organised the forum in Surat, Guwahati, Chennai and many other cities, the latest edition was held at Kochi.
Bibhor Srivastava, group publishing director at ITP Media Group India, welcomed the audience to the symposium and congratulated the partners and pioneering air-conditioning brand Voltas for successfully co-creating and setting up the well-received forum and briefly initiated the discussion. He then proceeded to invite the keynote speaker Architect Dinesh Verma, principal architect and managing director at Ace Group Architects onto the rostrum to deliver his presentation. Architect Verma's presentation was centred around the topic 'Designing & Building Sustainable and Efficient Spaces'. He commenced by saying, “There’s enough to eat for everyone in this world, let’s stop snatching food from each other.” Simply meaning, architects need to contribute to sustainable design by consciously taking on projects that aid the cause. He then went on to share the diverse smart and sustainable projects accomplished by his firm out of Bengaluru.

MUSING MUSEUMS
A few months back, when I was in Budapest, I walked into a building that left me awestruck. The inquisitive me went on to explore, and I discovered that it was a museum with pixels on the exterior and that the curved structure of the building dipped underground to form the interiors, even as the garden I was walking on was the green roof of the building that interjected at street level! Woah! I quickly took some pictures and went on to research this building, and the more I read about it, the more I fell in love with it. And then of course I had to share it with you all!
