Fishing Changing Youngsters' Lives

Children with physical, learning and behavioural difficulties have flourished by getting out of the classroom and on to the water

Twenty-four young anglers from across the country were celebrated at the Fishing for Schools Champions Awards.

The youngsters were commended in a ceremony at the House of Commons this month, hosted by Countryside Alliance (CA) chairman Simon Hart MP.

The Fishing for Schools initiative is run by the Countryside Alliance Foundation, the charitable arm of the CA, to provide angling courses to schools across the UK to support the education of 12 to 18-year-olds who may not respond to lessons in the classroom, but thrive once they get on to the water.
