Israel Showcases Its 'simple' Irrigation Solutions

Israel, a world leader in irrigation and hi-tech agricultural innovations, was on hand at Nampo 2017 to showcase the country’s best solutions to water utilisation, amongst others.

Israel is well known as a huge agricultural producer, despite the country’s hot, arid climate.

Agri-scientists, businesses and stakeholders have had to establish how to, not only utilise limited water resources, but how to cultivate fresh produce under such harsh conditions.

Israel’s ambassador to South Africa, Arthur Lenk, visited the exhibit on 18 May.

He said that Israel was regularly affected by famine and drought, and that this had, in turn, resulted in the modern state of Israel having to come up with innovative, creative means to ensure food security.
