While bugs and insects may be creepy to some people, they become a muse to a
community of photographers, opening up a new world for them. Doing bug and insect
photography is like discovering a whole new world where the buzzing, humming
and droning, membranous wings and thinnest of filamentary legs awaken the insect
movement at dust. With this thought, Chiiz Magazine Vol. 32 is themed on
insect and bug photography. We have brilliant bug and insect photographers like
Jeremy Squire who showcase his work on the ‘Mini Wonders’ of nature. Biljana Jurukovski explores her ongoing project ‘Painted Souls’ wherein she looks at alternative cultures and traditions, making portraits of the people of the Surma tribe in Ethiopia. Capturing the vibrancy in their traditional attires and their art of beautification, Bijlana stands out in her portrayal of the tribal culture.
