Semerkand English Magazine presents its September issue with the feature article “The Trials of Life: Bane or Boon.”
As Muslims, some of us are bewildered when faced with calamities and hardships. Thoughts arise such as: “What was our fault that such a trial befell us?” This article seeks to answer how believers should understand tribulations and what stance they ought to adopt when confronted with adversity.
In the column “Reflections From the Age of Bliss,” the life of the Companion Abdullah b. Jahsh is recounted, offering lessons from his devotion and sacrifices.
The issue also sheds light on the lives of Muslims in Europe, who endure numerous hardships and challenges, while at the same time bearing the responsibility of representing Islam in the West.
Renowned hadith scholar Abu Bakr Sifil contributes the article “The Messiah and Mahdi,” in which he clarifies misconceptions surrounding this significant subject.
