A Most Important Conversation
The “S.P.A.S.” Gallery is staging an individual exhibition by the well-known St. Petersburg artist Natasha Shalina entitled “A Conversation in Raised Tones”. The outbreak of intellectualism and visual aestheticism in the last decade has been interwoven in a surprising way with an attempt to return to archaic origins and to reinterpret the crisp intonations of children’s drawings. Natasha Shalina’s painting and graphic art is convincing proof of this. All her work is an attempt to describe what is most important without resorting to banal speech. Until 21 January.
