I dette nummeret

A project for a special client housing a museum, library and forum becomes the accomplished architectural expression of an all-encompassing design thought centred on environmental sustainability and interpersonal exchange. The progressive ideas of the former Presidential couple translated into the constructed form.

Embodying the concept of creating ‘living environments’ with sustainability and minimalism in mind, the NSBM Green University Town is a complex covering 26 acres. It is located in the verdant suburbia of Pitipana, a city awakening to its potential and undergoing vast changes in order to nurture this educational hub.

Centered around the unique requirements of the client, the architect has designed a residence which, although caters to a modern lifestyle, is fused with Sri Lankan architectural styles. Thus, the structure remains relevant in the tropical climate of the country.

The designs for a mountain hut in the Dolomites and for two twin holiday homes outside Bolzano show how Peter Pichler’s creativity and technical ingenuity can translate a landscape and cultural context into architectural forms and spaces.
