of kids wear segment. Though some years back, the growth in this category was
not too high, but ever since the slowdown has hit the market it has proved itself
to be recession proof. No matter what, parents in the international market still
do not want to compromise on quality when they buy for their kids and do not
mind even paying extra for some cool designs and innovations. All these reasons
have resulted in an increased growth for players manufacturing kids wear. As
far as the stringent norms are concerned, most of the players have over the years
successfully overcome the issue and are playing safe. We spoke to several buying
offices also who shared their views about the growth in kids wear segment. It
was good to hear that India is considered to be an important base for kids wear
and many companies plan to enhance sourcing from India in the coming days.
