The key industry event of the past fortnight was SIAT 2019, which proved to be a true-blue tech fest with plenty of research presentations, scores of new products and innovations being showcased and technologies aimed at cleaner, sustainable and more efficient mobility. Our 14-page report covers the latest updates on BS VI, vehicle crash and safety, electric mobility, telematics, NVH and simulation.

The past fortnight was also one of new passenger vehicle launches including the Tata Harrier, Maruti Wagon R and the Nissan Kicks. We also speak to Peyman Kargar, senior VP of Nissan Motor Co and Nissan in the Africa, Middle East and India region, on the learnings from a very competitive India market, and the strategy to differentiate the Nissan and Datsun brands. Meanwhile, Yamaha launched updated FZ-F1, FZS-F1 and YZF-R3 Version 3.0.
