Our cover story this month, “How to Provide Adequate Nutrition during Puppyhood” gives our readers crucial understanding on the nutritional demand of dogs during the most important developmental stages of their life – puppyhood. Th is insightful article takes the readers through some essential points before they feed puppies. While there are many options like commercially prepared dry, wet, semi-moist, freeze-dried, frozen and home-cooked meals for dogs, ultimately, it’s the owner’s own vigilance that will decide how that food agrees with the puppy.

This October, you can also meet our pet of the month – Mylo. He is a ten year old Weinmaraner, who happens to be a dad to eight puppies. Weinmaraners are large dogs that used to be bred for hunting in the 19th century by royalty to catch big game like bear and deer. Like his predecessors, Mylo is a big and tall dog with a short grey-brown coat, and lives with his family in Chennai.

Our NGO section features the story of Bheem and Simba, two English Mastiff s who were found abandoned on East Coast Road near a beach in Chennai. One of the team mates at Indian Centre for Animal Rights and Education (INCARE) found the dogs, took them under their wing, and hospitalized them for foster care.

This month, our October edition also carries the “Industry Speak” section, wherein we have interviewed Asha and Arun, who recently ventured into the pet industry by starting their own dog boarding service. As there are many couples and families with dogs, and it is not always possible to take them on vacation, the pet boarding business becomes a respite for city-dwellers looking for a quick getaway while
leaving their pet in the security of responsible boarders.
