There are many ways in which a creative
person relates to the idea of memory. On
the one hand, K. S. Radhakrishnan, fi gurative
sculptor, feels that in any creative work,
memories and experiences of the past and
impressions of the present are carried from
real space to a personal space of an artist.
Another viewpoint is shared by landscape
artist Michael Little who notes that earthworks
tend to address our larger spans of
memory, a metaphysical memory, rather
than personal or cultural memory.
