The theme of this inaugural issue revolves around Islamic ethical teachings on war and violence. It speaks directly to the urgency of our moment — where Gaza stands as a raw wound in the conscience of the world. Under Zionist occupation, with starvation now weaponized, the Palestinian people are once again made victims of one of history’s most brutal imperial machines. In this backdrop, revisiting what Islam says about justice, war, and resistance becomes not only relevant but necessary.

Through the magazine, we reflect on how classical Islamic ethics guide conduct in war, how early Arabic poetry shaped moral memory in times of conflict, and how contemporary tools like artificial intelligence are reshaping the very nature of war itself. We also look into the silent wars — conflicts often ignored, such as those in Central Asia — and reflect on newer forms of resistance, such as environmental consciousness rooted in Islamic ethos.
