A Joyful July... For past few months, I have been travelling across South East Asian countries for various conference and summits. One interesting thing that caught the attention is rapidly growing number of start-ups from this region. There is no doubt that Asia is racing ahead in the race, when compared to other continents.A recent report by KPMG revealed that Asia now attracts over a third of the venture funding available globally. Keeping this in mind, we decided to feature an interesting story on Venture Camp Asia, a start-up based in Vietnam, which encourages budding entrepreneurs to set their base in Vietnam. However, our main story, this month, is focussed on the unorganised local services industry. Urban Clap bridges the gap by helping users to find the right service professional for their daily needs.In addition, we also have the regular dosage of exploring the struggle and journey of startups- in India—this month we have featured Futuristic Retail, Happay, Lybrate, Soft Dreamz, Sync Works, ET Media labs, Marconix, BFSI and Leafwearables.
