Our fabulous February issue is packed full of projects and features - just the ticket to kick start your quilting in 2017! If you love making blocks then you will not want to miss Winter Roses, our stunning cover quilt. We adore Amanda Ogden’s graphic red and black colourway, and the eight-point star blocks and on-point setting create a timeless design. If you are in the mood for something quicker then check out Suzanne Fisher’s wonderfully bright and bold Jewelled Curves quilt. Love is in the air with Debbie Von Grabler-Crozier’s Sweet valentine quilt, rows of sugar sweet candy hearts make this Valentine quilt something special, and if you want to push your machine quilting skills a little further, then don’t miss part two of Greta Fitchett’s beautiful sampler. Mandy Munroe’s Village Playmat is easy to make, and includes a small amount of foundation piecing which is ideal if you want to learn the technique, but not commit to using it to make a full-size quilt. We also have a useful tote bag project that makes clever use of stripey fabric, a hand pieced patchwork box which would make a stylish addition to your sewing space, and a set of Staggered Placemats which are an ideal weekend project. There are all our usual great features too. If you are looking at trying a different technique in the new year our editor, Elizabeth Betts, has written the Get Creative column about printing using lino and Softcut. We take a look at Project Linus, interview the quilt and fabric design Victoria Findlay Wolfe and Anne William’s writes about antique quilts inspired by nature
