So, what does our October issue have in store for you? Plenty! Of course! Our cover features the first in a mini series of three tweed cushions from Margaret Lee, Bird in the Window Cushion. Former Meet a Quilter, Trease Lane, shows us how to make a Curved Log Cabin Quilt, while regular contributor Julie Hodges shows us how to make an Autumn Wreath. We have two beginner projects this month; Counting Confetti uses clever placement of squares to make a plus quilt while Shadow Boxes plays with fabric placement to create a 3D effect. Something a little bit more involved but not difficult by any means are the Bolster Cushions.
With most quilt chatter continuing about the Festival of Quilts, Helen presents her review of the show and Sheilah Daughtree tells us about her favourite Galleries at the Show. We find out more about the WW1 Quilt Project made by the Cutting Edge Textile Group and the Quilt of Memories, while regular contributor Chitra tells us about Afghan Embroidery. We take a look at Katherine Guerrier’s First and Last quilts and meet Saltway Quilters in Introducing....
