I dette nummeret

This issue is all about Mama Care, something I have lacked for almost my entire parenting journey (William just turned 6!). Until last year, I felt worthiness and accomplishment were based on objective outcomes: a well-balanced child, a clean house, a happy husband, and a successful business. Over the past year, I’ve realised this is not how worthiness is measured.
I also learned that burnout is real – even when you love what you do. I have gone on three retreats in the last 12 months, but upon returning home, I quickly fell back into the same patterns of busyness and outcome-focused activities, leaving my bucket empty again.
That's why this issue’s theme is Mama Care. I hope it finally sinks in for me, as I have read these articles many times. I used to think getting help from others was a sign of weakness, but now I see it requires strength and confidence to say, "I’m not coping" or "I need help." Asking someone to look after William so I could have some time felt like admitting failure. But now I’m changing. If I don’t look after myself, how can I expect to look after anyone else?
I’m going to ask for more help and take more time for myself – not for working or spending time with others, just for me. Time for a bath, a movie, a meditation, or doing nothing. It will be hard at first to say, “Can you please look after William?” but we all need it. Realistically, it will add value to his relationships, and we will both gain from this.
Now, read the Mama Care articles and plan what you need to feel cared for. Make sure it is implemented, as we mums quickly revert to doing everything for our families!
If you'd prefer to read Nurture in print, feel free to subscribe on our website www.nurtureparentingmagazine.com.au/subscribe.
**Whilst the parenting articles in each issue, are timeless, the branding is not lol! We rebranded from issue 22, regardless, enjoy the gift of Nurture!

Nurture Parenting Magazine Description:

Nurture is Australia’s natural parenting magazine in print Nationally in Newsagents, or via subscription to your door!

Nurture is now also available worldwide via Print on Demand, and digitally in over 40k Newsstands Globally!

Founded in 2012, Nurture is published by parents for parents and is your destination for thought-provoking, evidence-based articles on the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual elements of child-rearing from a natural parenting perspective.

Fundamentally, Nurture advocates the principles of Attachment Parenting, and the Attachment Theory – A Secure Base for Babies and Parents. Attachment is a deep and enduring emotional bond that connects one person to another across time and space (Ainsworth, 1973; Bowlby, 1969).

Our philosophy is to nourish the most important bonds, first with yourself, then with your family and close relationships, and are both WHO (World Health Organisation) and TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) compliant. We help parents seek out the practical tools and knowledge they need to feel empowered and supported as they child-rear. From pregnancy to the early learning years, we are there through it all!

Published bi-monthly and consciously printed, is it time for your ‘time-out?
